Me and Tara gathered our equipment and met Genevieve near the entrance to the cave. We briefly went over the plans that we discussed last night. Genevieve remained by the entrance to the cave, and me and Tara went in.
We made our way down the path and were greeted by a giant crocodile. Tara was sharp and ready. She began firing her arrows into the beast while I was slashing it with my sword. Moments later, a second giant crocodile joined in on the combat. Tara continued to fire her arrows, and I was viciously slashing at them with my blade. After a brief battle, the giant crocodiles had been eliminated.
"Well, that takes care of them," I said. "Good work with your bow, Tara."
"Thanks, Ricky," Tara replied.
I processed the beasts, and then me and Tara took a short break.
"There's probably gonna be a lot more giant crocodiles up ahead," I said to Tara. "We better pace ourselves."
"My bow is ready, Ricky," she replied. "With the two of us, these crocs don't stand a chance."
After taking a quick break, me and Tara continued down the path to the water, and another giant crocodile came at us. We quickly put an end to its life, and then I processed it.
"Another one down!" I said.
"Easy peasy!" Tara replied.
We then began to cross the water to try and get to the pillars, but yet another giant crocodile emerged. Tara kept her distance and was shooting the beast with her arrows while I was circling it and attacking it at close range. The giant crocodile was easily defeated.
"We're sure gonna be going home with a lot of reptile hide," I said to Tara.
"With all of the extra hide that we're going to have, you're going to have to try and experiment with making different types of armor," she replied.
"For sure!" I said. "I'm actually kinda enjoying the weapon and armor crafting."
After processing the beast, we moved towards the pillars which actually turned out to be some kind of a stone arch. There was a path that led to another arch on the other side. As we tried to get a glimpse into the area beyond the other arch, another giant crocodile attacked us.
Tara again kept her range and was shooting her arrows at the beast with one piercing it right in the head, and I was slashing it up with my blade and blocking its attacks with my shield. The giant crocodile tried to put up a fight, but ultimately, me and Tara put an end to its life.
"I have to say that this croc put up a decent fight," I said to Tara. "You shot an arrow right in its head, and it was still fighting."
"Yeah, that one was a toughy," Tara replied. "But it still went down."
"Alright, let's take a little breather, and then we can continue on down the path to that other arch," I said.
Tara sat down on a nearby rock. "I wonder who built these arches."
"I was wondering that myself," I said. "I bet this time and world is just full of mysteries."
Me and Tara sure fought a lot of giant crocodiles so far, and we did a pretty damn good job at eliminating the bastards. I don't know, but I think me and Tara are doing a really good job at adapting and learning how to survive in this new time and world.
